SeaPro C001 - FIELD TEST RESULTS - SEA OF JAPAN

Commercial fishing boat used in test.  Fiberglass hull coated with SeaPro C001.  Pulled from water after 6 months.  Photos show underwater hull surfaces clean & smooth with no discernible plant or shell growth.  Average hull speed increased 2.8 knots.

Majorca Harbor, Majorca, Spain

Procedure  

Similar to Newport Harbor test procedures.  Submerged panels and test boat hulls were visually examined every 2-3 months for a period of 2+ years.

 

Results

The unprotected backs of panels showed significant shell (mollusk) growth and weed growth.  A moderate to thick coating of algae had collected on all panels within 5 months.  The painted sides remained free of shell and plant growth. After 2 years, there was no tube worm or shell growth on treated panels.  Untreated side of steel panel had significant rust.  Treated side had no signs of rust.  

Treated hulls of boats showed similar resistance to weed and shell growth.  Hull sections of all boats treated with anti foul paint other than SeaPro C001 showed significant weed and shell growth after 4 months.

 

 

Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii

Procedure

Similar to above. Submerged panels and test boat hulls were visually examined every 2-3 months for a period of 2 1/12 years.

 

Results

The unprotected backs of panels showed significant shell (barnacle) growth and weed growth.  A moderate to thick coating of algae had collected on all panels within 5 months.  Coral-like secretions of tube worms were evident on all untreated sides of all panels.  The painted sides remained free of shell and plant growth. After 2 years, there was no tube worm or shell growth on treated panels.  Untreated side of steel panel had significant rust.  Treated side had no signs of rust.

THE BOTTOM LINE

No dry dock "down" time due to inclement weather.  Paint in the rain.  Minimal hull preparation. Save on primers, time and labor.  Double the life of other anti foul paints.  SeaPro C001 is the environmentally friendly anti foul.
